Members of the UNM community:
You, the University of New Mexico faculty and staff, have demonstrated unprecedented support for United Way in the past to change lives and help those in need. UNM’s contributions – YOUR contributions – represent record-breaking generosity and a commitment to the well being of the communities we serve.
With honorary campaign chairs Martha Bedard, Dean for Library Services, Vice President for Athletics, Paul Krebs, and Valerie Romero Leggott, Vice President for Diversity at HSC, we set this year’s goal at $1 million.
Our goal will be realized with the support of all of us, doing what we can, to help make the lives of those around us better. Last year, 15% of UNM faculty and staff contributed through United Way. This year, we’ll need everybody chipping in, contributing whatever you can, to help make the lives of those in our community that much better. Whether it’s through a $5 monthly payroll deduction, or something larger, your gift will make a difference.
This year’s theme is "Giving Makes Life Better," certainly a truism for those who find aid through the many and varied programs supported by United Way. As you consider your annual gift to United Way, I ask you to also consider the possibilities that exist on campus. United Way opens the door to unlimited educational possibilities through your support of scholarships and undergraduate education. In fact, you can designate a United Way contribution specifically to your favorite UNM department or program or to any other favorite charity that benefits our community.
Regardless of where you want your gift to go, you can rest assured knowing that 100% of your gift goes to the agency or organization of your choice. Administrative costs are covered through the generosity of a number of local companies called Cornerstone Corporations.
The choice is yours. The possibilities are unlimited. Please join your colleagues and co-workers in making a pledge for the coming year either through a monthly payroll deduction or a one-time annual gift.
If you’re currently giving through a monthly payroll deduction, your contribution will automatically rollover. If you’re able to increase your contribution, want to change your designation, or make any adjustments, please fill out and return the enclosed pledge form.
