You, the University of New Mexico faculty and staff, have demonstrated unprecedented
support for United Way in the past to change lives and help those in need. UNM's contributions
- your contributions - represented record-breaking generosity and a commitment to the well
being of the communities we serve. Our contributions connect each of us to our community and
the state.
With campaign co-chairs Viola Florez, Interim Provost/Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Vice President for Athletics, Paul Krebs leading the charge, we set this year's goal at $515,000.
This year's theme is "Giving Makes Life Better," certainly a truism for those who find aid through the many and varied programs supported by United Way. As you consider your annual gift to United Way, I ask you to also consider the possibilities that exist on campus.
You can choose to have your United Way contribution benefit programs right here on campus. United Way opens the door to unlimited educational possibilities through your support of scholarships and undergraduate education. In fact, you can earmark a United Way contribution specifically to your favorite UNM department or program. As a UNM employee, you are keenly aware of the unlimited possibilities that additional funding provides. By giving back a little, you can see the difference and make a difference.
One hundred percent of your gift goes to the agency or organization of your choice. Administrative costs are covered through the generosity of a number of local companies. You may also choose to direct your contribution to United Way Community Fund or any 501(c)3 nonprofit organization of your choice that helps support dozens of local organizations.
The choice is yours. The possibilities are unlimited. Join your colleagues and co-workers in making a pledge for the coming year either through a monthly payroll deduction or a one-time annual gift.
